Today we’d like to introduce you to Nick Flamel.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Nick. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started in the church as a lot of other musicians. Being a preacher’s kid had me in and out of church all the time which sucked until I realized that meant unlimited access to drum sticks and keyboards! Later on, I joined the school band and polished up my skills. Eventually, I decided to see how digital composing worked and here I am now.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The creative side is always smooth. The art comes as natural as the sun rising every day. Exposure, advertising, and staying motivated when business is slow would probably be the hardest part.
Please tell us more about what you do, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I’m a songwriter, composer, producer, and videographer. I’m probably most known for being too hands-on. When creating a project that’s not for a client, I tend to try and do everything myself. That includes creating the instrumental, writing lyrics, mix and mastering, and shooting/editing the visuals for it. I believe that my dislike of currency is what sets me apart from others. Of course, we all need money but I hate the fact that the world revolves around it. I’m in it for the glory, not the money.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me would be the day that I can create content for people who may not have the money for my services for free. That day, it wouldn’t be about money anymore. It would be about giving back and helping someone else get started with their dreams.
