I started my business five years ago. I was introduced to eyelash extensions by going on a trip to Atlanta. I was really fascinated with the way that eyelash extensions were at the time. It was a trend that was transitioning from eyelash strips to eyelash extensions, and it was something that I really wanted to learn so I did a little bit of research of trainers in my area. I took a training class and from there my career started. It has definitely not been easy for me. It took a lot of trial and error, a lot of sacrifices, and just stepping out on faith.
Believing in myself because I knew I had the talent and motivation. I hustled! I took risks. I am now full time and have complete control over how I want my business to be ran. I love to show my creative side. I wanted to specialize in full volume lash extensions (bold and long), to stand out from other lash businesses. I take pride in my company, my competitive prices, and I love that I can express myself through my work making women feel confident and beautiful!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think the hardest part of being an independent lash artist is to not give up. It takes time to build clientele. I worked full-time for an insurance company for the first four years, until my business became more steady. The money was not consistent in the beginning, and you continuously have to find creative ways to stand out from the competition.
