Meet Odette Muzimbe of Pendeza Style in Colleyville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Odette Muzimbe.

Odette, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve always loved fashion but it was a hidden passion of mine. At the time, I was very focused on pursuing my education in the medical field. How I got started happened very spontaneously. A couple that I knew approached me asking if I could be their personal stylist. It definitely caught me off guard, but I said yes. With that opportunity, I ended up being a personal stylist for a good handful of people, but I just saw it as something fun to do. I soon realized that being a stylist was more than just dressing people up. I’m able to serve, encourage, listen and help build confidence for everyone styled. Through that experience, I’ discovered so much about myself as a creative, a designer and storyteller.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been all smooth! Starting a business being an entrepreneur definitely has its hard times. My main struggles came from my own thoughts. Believing that my business will be successful, trusting myself and what I do. On the practical business side, finding ways to grow my business, and clientele while staying true to myself, and budget.

Pendeza Style – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
The business: Pendeza Styles was birthed out of my desire for my business/brand to remind me of where I came from and my family’s roots. Pendeza is the name of my grand-mère (grandmother) and it means beautiful. I hope that through my work, people get inspired to discover their strength and beauty in who you are.

I am a creative director/wardrobe consultant & designer, I style people for special occasions, and photoshoots. I’m mostly known for directing creative shoots that tell people stories through fashion and creating events that share a story for people to connect with through all arts. I believe that’s what sets Pendeza style apart.

What I’m most proud of when it comes to my company is that its mission and goals are to simply empower, inspire, and help others by creating tangible experiences through the services provided and events created.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Having my latest shoot that I directed and styled titled “The Eden Of Us” featured at an Art gallery. (The Muse Collective)
