Meet Parker Williams of The Ride House in University Park

Today we’d like to introduce you to Parker Williams.

Parker, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started indoor cycling 20 years ago as a compliment to a gym routine and was instantly addicted. After taking classes for about 8 years, my favorite instructor moved and I decided to take the chance and get trained. I ended up taking two of her class spots and taught at high-end box gym for 4 years. When my professional career took off I had to stop teaching indoor cycling but went back to being a regular client several times a week. In 2012, I decided that it was time to sell my company and move out of Los Angeles. I could see the surge of Indoor Cycling Boutiques starting and knew that is was my next adventure. It was a three-year process but The Ride House opened in early 2015 in Dallas, Texas. My focus was to provide a new approach that emphasizes both the physical and mental aspects of Indoor Cycling. I built a studio that has a luxury feel featuring chandeliers, black glass lockers and high-end amenities. The cycling studio features a custom designed light show and concert quality sound system. We have an amazing team of 15 instructors that deliver unique and powerful rides which coaching clients to their personal best. Most of all I wanted to create a studio where everyone feels welcome feel part of the family.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has been a relatively smooth road. The most difficult process was finding the right location. Of course, there are always the struggles of daily business but the most important thing at The Ride House is the customer experience. That is our #1 priority.

So, let’s switch gears a bit and go into The Ride House story. Tell us more about the business.
The Ride House specializes in Rhythm Rides, Performance Rides and Hybrid classes that feature a combination of Cycling followed by either TRX or Sculpt sessions. We are the only boutique studio in Dallas the requires our instructors to be nationally certified and CPR certified. In addition, we offer instructor trainees an additional 80+ hours of training before they are considered for an official instructor position.

The thing I am most proud of is the atmosphere that has been created with clients and instructors as a family unit of support and inspiration. All body types, all fitness levels and all goals are respected and encouraged.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The Indoor Cycling business and come a very long way with the boom of the boutique cycling studios. I think the growth will continue rapidly and hopefully that will also increase the quality. My goal is to develop more training programs and continuing education programs to encourage instructors to continually improve and evolve. Hybrid rides will also increase in popularity as these studios look for more ways to engage their clients and give a well-rounded workout program.
