Today we’d like to introduce you to Queita Davis.
Queita, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
From 2003-2006, I was working as a medical professional. I realize that my passion was not in the medical community as I thought. So in 2006 I quit my job. I told myself that I was going to do hair. I took the last check of $300 to buy all the equipment and products that I needed. I knew I wanted to do braiding and weaving. I did a few models for free to post pictures on Craigslist. After I posted the hair models on the internet I was receiving calls for appointments everyday, and everyday I would post pictures on Craigslist like it was my website. Even though I was unlicensed and doing hair at home I was very professional.
As I was growing and growing by the day I realized that I needed a website. I couldn’t think of any names, A name cross my head “thebraider.com“, as I told myself “yes thebraider.com all I do is braid all day”. After I created my website myself it helped me grow even more. After working from home 2 years I realized that all my work paid off. I had to move to a shop. My 250 clients followed me. I worked in Kut it up barber shop and salon from 2008 to 2011.
I did not want to stop there I had so many goals that I wanted to achieve in the hair business so I opened my first location in 2011. I than opened my second location in 2013. Both locations were successful.
Thebraider.com has been around for over 10 years. We now carry hair products, hair bundles, custom wigs, sunglasses, and more. Never give up on your dreams.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, not at all. The biggest challenge is trusting people with what you’ve worked so hard for. People have stolen from me. People have tried to demolish my brand.

At TheBraider.com we specialize in braiding and weaving, and type of hair style that consists of a braid. We are known for flat lasting sew in weave. We a proud that we have over 40 clients that have been clients for 10 years. We like to satisfy every client. If you’re up happy, we are too.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Watching my mother everyday do hair.
