Meet The Real Rizo aka Christopher Moore

Today we’d like to introduce you to The Real Rizo aka Christopher Moore.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’m just a kid from fort worth with a love for music. Since birth it been a consistent part of my life; I honestly couldn’t tell you where I would be without it. I grew up with a mom and dad plus one sister, got a pretty big family on both sides, and I resemble the two sides evenly… street smart, but educated, rugged yet sophisticated, with a gift of gab to complement the stature. Athletics took me a lot of places in my early years but the music was always the first love.

I attend full sail in university in Orlando, Florida, to expand my knowledge of the behind scenes of music, understanding the importance of good engineering and having access to properly built studios. Florida is where my writing took off; that hunger pushed me to Atlanta, Georgia to pursue bigger heights, giving me membership to the legion of doom, working with Wako and skip, dem franchise boys, k ci and Jojo, charnel Allen, and more. After getting comfortable in my skill, I came back to Texas to re-establish myself back home.

After dropping a couple of singles and one early mixtape called “Come Fly With Me,”… I was eventually signed to TME/Lightyear/EMI… where I released the mixtape Dark Days Bright Nights, as advertised in XXL magazine. The Deal went south for reasons outside of music, so I prepared my next mixtape Lucky number 7, Hosted By popular California DJ kid fresh. Now in 2020, I’m going to drop my first album “Man of the Hour” on my own label. It will feature production by Swiss Frankie, Clyde Strokes, Dismond Beats, and J Rhodes.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Definitely not smooth, the music business is cutthroat. If your not careful, you can get lost in the sauce before you know what happened. Having a lawyer I’m comfortable with and trust saved me a lot of heartaches. You meet so many people who can do this and can do that, so they say, but won’t deliver when its deadline time. Its all learning lessons, learning how to research people before you deal with them, keep a tab on their ethics, lets you know what kind of animal you are dealing with. From A&Rs stealing money, Label owners acting like slave owners, artist trying to take credit for your lyrics, I got a story for everything. its really that simple, if you don’t pay attention you liable to come up short.

Can you give our readers some background on your music?
It’s my own label… Young Gifted and Black… the dream is big and I have complete control of my own ship now. We have all heard the saying that if you want something done right, sometimes you gotta do it yourself, and that’s exactly the vibe that I’m on right now. I’m trying to make my mark on DFW music scene that opens opportunity and remembered for years to come. It hasn’t been done on a major scale yet but in my heart, I believe it can be done.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
MAN OF THE HOUR ALBUM….. SUMMER 2020…… a bigger platform to help artists get recognition in this region… I still feel like there is a void in the music scene right here in the middle of the map.
