Meet Tamika Smith of Century21

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tamika Smith.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I am an agent with Century21 in Rockwall, Texas. My introduction into the “Wonderful world of real estate” came to fruition. During my fourteen year tenure in mortgage lending, I was able to provide financial education on credit and lending to a vast variety of people. Within this time I noticed that I had developed a niche for increasing the confidence level of many people who never believed they were capable of purchasing a home in a lifetime. In 2015, I made the decision to expand my horizon to the “wonderful world of real estate. “

As of today, I am now walking in purpose, learning and perfecting my craft daily and enjoying every minute of it.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Even though being a realtor was a something I believed I was destined to be, there have been conflicts and bumps in the road. In the beginning, I had to make the decision to make many sacrifices. I knew that if I ever wanted to be great at what I wanted to do, I would have to be willing to make time to study others who were more tenured and successful. My main conflict with myself was whether I should start out as a full-time agent or part-time agent. Of course, due to obligations, part-time made more sense, but I knew if I ever wanted to be GREAT it would definitely take full time.

We’d love to hear more about what you do.
I specialize in residential properties, but I am available for commercial transactions as well. I am a passionate and market-savvy professional who sees client satisfaction as a top priority. Rest assured that I will stay on top of every detail of the deal in turn providing a smooth transaction.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
A successful person is someone who shows up and rises to every occasion while adding value to everything that he/she comes in contact with. I also believe that there is a misconception that success means perfection. Successful people are those who can take imperfect situations in an imperfect world and make the most of them. “Lemons to Lemonade!”
