Meet Robert Green of Nerdtonik in Richardson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Robert Green.

So, before we jump into specific questions about what you do, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Since I was young, I’ve alway’s had a passion for all things technology. It started when my dad brought home an old windows 95 computer that his company was about to trash and I was just drawn to it for some reason. I would sneak and play with it whenever I got a chance even though I really didn’t suppose to. I had this curiosity about how it worked and what it was for so I would just click around trying to learn as much as I could about it. As I grew, so did my knowledge and curiosity for what makes computers tick and how many uses we have for, not only computers but, technology period. I dreamed of being able to leave my mark in technology somehow and inspire more people to be interested in the field. I attended my first year of college at Texas state technical college where I would meet not only my wife but also my brothers and business partners Caleb twine and Geoffrey Marshall. We were all in different areas of study and expertise but had a common passion for technology which motivated me to start Nerdtonik as a way we could use our collective skills to try and make names for ourselves. Along the way, we met a lot of people who enjoy working with technology too that we have been able to add to the team which makes us well rounded.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The hardest part about starting an I.T/Technology business is getting people to trust that you have the skill set necessary to fix their issue’s and provide sound solutions. People are pretty much handing over their essential, sometimes business critical, devices to you with hopes you don’t make things worse.

Please tell us about Nerdtonik.
We specialize in all thing’s technology and I.T. We come to you so that you don’t have to leave the comfort of your own home or office and most cases can fix your problem on the spot and get you back going in no time. A lot of I.T. companies will slap a band-aid on the problem but we get to the root of the issue so that you don’t have to worry about it happening in the future and all of our repairs come with a 3-month warranty. We have great web design packages for businesses that would like to establish their online presence without breaking the budget and offer a free consultation not only for web design but any I.T./technology questions you may have. We’re always here to help and pride ourselves on being able to find a solution to any problem you throw at us. We eventually plan to launch our own line of custom built gaming computer’s and business desktops

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite childhood memory would have to be when I was around 5 or 6 and playing little league football. My dad was the coach of my team and I remember I fell down pretty hard on a play and hurt my leg. I had no idea what happened and my first instinct was to cry because of the pain. Right as I was about to open my mouth to cry, my dad ran over and stopped me he told me at that moment “don’t cry in football, and in life sometimes, we fall down and it hurts but be strong, don’t cry, get up, walk it off and keep playing your heart out.” Those words have stuck with me to this day and whenever I think about quitting, I remember that moment to help me keep going.
