Today we’d like to introduce you to Rocio Garcia.
Rocio, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am a proud Mexican American from North Texas. With the blog and the content I create, I share my culture, gardening, hobbies, personal life, recipes, spirituality, my travels and life as a new wife. I work with local restaurants, shops and vendors to help bring awareness to their businesses and causes. I started this blog with the intent of documenting my life for self-reflection and I have had some wonderful opportunities to collaborate with some amazing people.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
For the most part, blogging started off easy but once you start gaining an audience, there are things that are expected of you that weren’t before. You have to come up with new content weekly, you need to plan photo shoots and sometimes find a photographer, sometimes you may have deadlines, If you are not a planner or an organized person, blogging will be very challenging so It’s best to set priorities and get a routine down that works best for you.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Shulammitegirl – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I create content, write, interview and sometimes collab with local businesses and vendors. I specialize in working with not only local entrepreneurs in our community but mainly working with those who are in the Hispanic/Latino community.
I am very proud to work with the people I have worked with because of the bonds we share, one of the shop owners I had the opportunity to work with before even designed a dress for me for one of my wedding events. I think what sets me apart from others is the fact that the content I create can relate to my audience and not all bloggers can say that.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My plans for the future are to continue to create content that others will enjoy reading and sharing, working with local photographers to help catch my moments and creativity and someday I would really love to host a workshop.
