Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan Taylor.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Ryan. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have been a drummer since the age of 5. Exploring all styles up through my adolescent years, joining many Rock and Club bands in my hometown of Dallas, TX. As with most musicians, I found great joy in playing. A satisfaction in making people smile and feeling good.
However, I knew there was something greater behind the drum. In 2004, I traveled to Haiti to study the indigenous drumming used for community and connection with Spirit. This hit me like a ton of bricks! This was it! I had opened my journey to the “truth” behind the drum. Rhythm and vibration as a means of communicating with energy and nature. So my journeys of learning took me back to Haiti several times, Africa, Mexico, the Caribbean and other exciting places.
My passion is to unlock the power and knowledge that resides in us all to help increase our awareness, raise our spiritual, mental and physical health and transform one’s energy to a field of positive vibration. Unlocking our true self manifests abundance in our daily lives.
Now I travel the country holding empowering healing drum circles, workshops, classes, concerts and expos. I also perform with several bands around the Metroplex.
Has it been a smooth road?
It’s been a road of many ups and downs. Self promoting and compiling your own music then getting people to bite along is never easy.
Although I’ve been blessed with all the travels I’ve taken around the world doing this and the thousands of faces I’ve met along the way.
I’m at a good spot now and am most thankful.

I bring life empowerment, healing and transformation to individuals and groups using everyone’s favorite instrument…. the drum.
I share very ancient rhythm techniques along with “Soul Inspired” rhythm making to achieve the goals we set out to accomplish.
I’m known as the Spirit Drummer, Amazing people come from all around to join me in healing music making.
Not many in the area if at all are using quite the same principles and techniques. There are several other very skilled individuals here in Dallas that use drums as well but what I do sets my vision apart from the rest.
I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished doing this on my own for 15 years now and the lives I’ve touched along the way. I love my work!
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Sound healing therapy is always changing. We’re discovering so much at an alarming rate. Much about ourselves, the body and the energy around us.
I enjoy seeing the combination of current western medicine and the indigenous practices used for thousands of years. I can truly see our field leading the way in all medicines with innovation and a revolutionary breakthrough.
