Meet Sabrina Munoz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sabrina Munoz.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Sabrina. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
It all started my junior year of high school. I remember making the decision to quit my athletic future for doing what I loved more than anything in the world. Hair and Makeup. Paul Mitchell, the school of Arlington, is where I attended to receive my license. I will always be thankful for my parents, really supporting my decision and being there every step of the way. Once I graduated from Paul Mitchell, I found a cute salon to work at called Instinktive and they helped me grow as a stylist In so many ways. I was there for about two years and then suddenly I started to not like what I was doing.

I finally came to a breaking point with my career. I was so comfortable with where I was at in life and okay with what I was making. I realized that it wasn’t my job; I didn’t like it was the environment I was in. It was time for me to look for growth and new opportunities. I went from a commission stylish, making a certain amount every week And having a receptionist that was going to book me, clients. For being my own boss and build my own little business. I would worry and stress about not having enough clients to come in and see me or would I be able to pay that weekly fee with no appointments that previous week? I took the leap of faith and it has probably been the best decision yet. I have my own little thing going now and I would say business is booming. Slowly but surely. I’ve grown so much professionally and personally this past year, but it has motivated me to keep pushing and keep fighting for the ultimate goal.

Has it been a smooth road?
I wouldn’t say it’s been the smoothest road getting to where I am today. I had to do a lot of research and learning about being my own boss and business owner. No one else in my family that I know of is a Hairstylist so I was really going in this thing all by myself. It really has molded me into the person I am today and really motivated me to do so much with my life. This is definitely the beginning of greater things, and all I can do is Thank the Big man upstairs for blessing me and never allowing me to give up.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I’m a Hairstylist, specializing in color corrections and blonding. My ultimate goal with my business is to have that intimate one on one relationship with my clients. I want to make them feel so comfortable and important. I try to make every client feel special and giving them the hair of their dreams or simply giving them a new look makes all the difference. I would say I’m most proud of how consistent I am with my business. If you know me, you know I can be a little bit all over the place but my business to me means EVERYTHING! It’s the one thing I’m constantly thinking about and trying to find new ways to branch out and network.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Dallas is pretty big and has a lot of attractions, so for me, I would say we are in a pretty good location for businesses like mine. Especially city life, people love to feel luxurious and fancy.
