Meet Anthony Benjamin of Salon on the Go by Anthony in Carrollton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Benjamin.

Anthony, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started off working at Narges Salon in Carrollton, where I was fortunate to learn from some of the best artists in the area. I worked closely with Narges and worked at her salon as an assistant while I went to hair school at Ogle in the evening. So much learned in those two years. After working there for years, I worked at a few other high-end salons and came up with the idea of maximizing other people’s time with an artistic twist.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Never a smooth road, a lot of obstacles along the way and a lot of lessons learned. Thankful for every single opportunity and struggle. One of my biggest struggles first starting was building my brand and figuring everything out on my own. I was blessed to run across some amazingly talented people who helped me tremendously!!

We’d love to hear more about your business.
My business specializes in bringing the professional salon experience to your home or office, anywhere in the DFW. I specialize mainly in color, blowouts, and men’s precision cuts, but can do most hair services on all hair textures. That’s one of the things that sets me apart from others besides being mobile. I am most proud of all the amazing relationships I have made along the way and all the beautiful people that have had a huge impact on me.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Narges Akbari was my #1 supporter/mentor that believed in me when none else did. She taught me not only how to do amazing hair but also how to interact with high-end clientele and how to dress. When she passed away from cancer I was devastated. I know she would be proud of me today.
