Meet Sandra Kemayou of Map to Clients in Frisco

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sandra Kemayou.

Sandra, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I unofficially started coaching at eight years old. I remember it like it was yesterday.

A friend of mine came over and was pacing all over my living room. She was upset. We talked for about 30 minutes. It was so long ago that I don’t remember exactly what I said to her. However, she left my home with a massive smile on her face. At that moment, I knew I wanted to do that “that” and help people “this way” when I grew up.

On the other hand, my father was clear that I would become a doctor like him and would take over his hospital in Cameroon. There was no doubt in his mind. I, on the other hand, had concerns.

I moved to the USA at 16, speaking no word of English. At 21, I was graduating from college with a degree in Criminal Justice (instead of Biology).

The conversation when I told my father that I was not going to become a doctor was not pleasant! After that, I went on to get a Master’s in Psychology and spent my 20’s working in the mental health field. I even enrolled in a Ph.D. program in an attempt to soften the blow of not going to medical school. I never completed my Ph.D.

I had a chip on my shoulder. I could not figure out how to get to doing what I loved, which is to help women crush their goals and make money from it. More importantly, I was bent on proving a point. I wanted to make my father proud. I wanted to prove to myself that I had not failed at life. The weight of cultural expectations weighed heavily on me.

When I turned thirty, I had an epiphany! I realize that I could spend my whole life holding my breath, waiting for approval, or I could step into “the light.” What is the light, you might ask? The “light” is a place of full authenticity and power where one walks boldly into their purpose. The “light” is refusing to settle for less than what one deserves. Finally, the “light” is refusing to live in the shadows. I chose the light. I chose me. I officially launched my coaching business. I wrote two books, one of which became an Amazon Best Seller. I started getting invited to speak and getting paid to coach. I was still working a full-time job as a business consultant, and, by this time, had three children. I felt like I was discovering myself again. I started dreaming again.

The most significant thing I did around this time was to hire a coach to help me build my coaching business. From there, my business took off. I was able to quit my full-time job and finally was able to do “this” every single day. The feeling I felt when I was eight years old, came back rushing to me. To this day, I feel it every time I coach. I like to think that I did not choose to coach, but that coaching chose me.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
From the moment I decided to launch my business, I faced three challenges:

1. One of them was trying to piece my business together by myself. I should have hired a coach from the beginning, but I did not. I ended up wasting a lot of time, money, and energy.

2. The other challenge I faced was picking a niche. I felt stuck between life coaching and business coaching. Ultimately, I chose business coaching and used all of my mindset expertise to help my clients get an edge in business…

3. In the online world, you got to “brag” on yourself. Your credential, your reviews, your expertise, how much you make become an essential part of your brand story. That was new to me and somewhat uncomfortable. I was used to being in the background. I was happy in the shadows. Learning how to take “space” and build a brand while maintaining a real sense of self was challenging.

Despite all of the challenges, I was able to overcome all of them. The main reason being my home team (my kids, my family, and friends). Special shout out to my husband, who has always been by my side and is my biggest cheerleader.

Map to Clients – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I help driven women build successful coaching businesses online. Our coaching programs are centered around helping our clients create an irresistible offer, get in front of the right audience, and make sales.

Our ideal client is a woman who wants the following:
1. To create real impact in the world through sharing their expertise.
2. They want to have financial freedom so that they can live life on their term.

What makes MAP TO CLIENTS different than everything else on the marketplace is that we help our coaches build a business from a place of authenticity and strength. The first thing we do when we on board a client is to help them identify their unique strengths using a proprietary method, we delve into their background to pull out the essential pieces that they need to build a successful business. Also, we help them build processes and systems that help them automate 90% of their business. Automation is the key to scaling a business. While most business coaching programs only provide a piece of the puzzle, we guide our clients through every step and give them an easy to follow map.

Lastly, we keep our program relatively small, which allows us to provide an unparalleled experience to our customers.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is the ability to be authentic, no matter what room I enter. Success is raising children that contribute to society. Success is having a long-lasting, loving marriage. Success is always standing in the “light”.
