Hi Shawndra, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started this company at home back in May of 2020, in our extra bedroom, and launched with 12 different glitter colors. My dream was to have my husband quit his job that kept him away from our family of 5 for long hours at a time. After six months of growing, my husband was able to quit his job and work alongside me!
Fast-forward to 2 years later, we now have a warehouse and hundreds of products to choose from! We have developed a new way of ordering custom glitter blends called Wildflower Glitter Bar. Customers have the ability to create custom recipes to cater to whatever project they might need it for!
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I would like to say that we have been very blessed along our journey, but it hasn’t been the easiest. As someone who does not have experience in business or sales, I have had to learn, adapt, and also give myself grace while navigating this journey.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are a crafting supply company that sells professional-grade glitter, mica, and polymer clay sprinkles. We also offer other crafting essentials like acrylic blank cutouts, blank phone grips, and badge reels, and silicone brushes. Our customers are crafters, school teachers, nail artists, and DIYers.
We are most proud of our patent pending concept that we established in March 2021: Wildflower Glitter Bar.
We have created a trend-setting live experience to share with our customers for an interactive experience…something we were all craving during the pandemic. We specialize in creating unique custom glitter mixes that cater to any customer’s needs! We have created beautiful mixes inspired by: logo colors, wedding colors, holidays, sports teams, school colors, and so much more. We also make these mixes live on our TikTok page, which makes it so much more personal and an overall enjoyable experience.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you, and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
We have learned a lot from this experience. We began our business in the very beginning stages of the pandemic. Although there was a lot of scary moments in the world, and we were all stuck in our homes, we were able to bring joy to so many people. We have received many emails from viewers expressing gratitude for us and reiterated that our live shows have helped them through the rough times. The biggest lesson that I can take away is: there is always time to spread joy and sparkle around and you never know who needs you to share your kindness.
