Today we’d like to introduce you to Shelley Graham.
Shelley, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I have loved makeup and hair ever since I was a little girl. When I was a teenager, I would always do my friends hair and makeup whether we were staging our own glamour shots, going out, or even bigger things like prom. From there, I ventured out and started doing hair and makeup for the friends of my friends and family. My clientele was only by word of mouth at that time because I just did it for fun, as I loved doing it! Fast forward to a couple of years ago when my daughter graduated, I decided to really go for it and pursue my passion. I wasn’t really sure how to get it going though so I decided to take a makeup class and start there. I took a makeup class called Glam Lab and that is where I found all the tools and confidence I needed to get out there and really go for it. Today I am helping teach that same class that I took and am doing hair and makeup for weddings, fashion shows, editorial shoots, and my work has even been published in magazines.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I am a bit of a shy person so the biggest obstacle for me has been getting outside of my comfort zone and networking. Once I pushed myself to get out, their doors started to open and I started to find my way as a makeup and hair artist.

I specialize in hair and makeup artistry for events such as weddings, fashion shows, proms, and editorial shoots.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
While I love creative hair & makeup and I am very proud of the work I have done in that area, I really want to try and build up my brand in the bridal business!
