Today we’d like to introduce you to Sherika Mitchell.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Alpha Omega Theta Sorority Inc. was founded in 2017 as a social sorority for women in business. We started with Chapters in all 50 states and set out to serve mankind in a better way. We are a Noncollegiate social organization; we believe that a woman can be an amazing asset to our organization, with or without a degree.
We have members who have earned Ph.D.’s and Sorors who have HS Diplomas, and no one is treated any differently. We offer mentoring programs, scholarships, business grants and loans to our Sorors as well as a strong network of sisterhood and friendship.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I believe anything worth something never comes easy. Organizing such a massive organization can lead to many challenges. So many told me to start local and branch out, while others said it was a dumb idea. I never wanted to be local; I felt the call to expand this idea and sisterhood past the borders of my own abilities.
It’s an everyday challenge to govern the individual needs of the membership while being mindful of the overall bigger picture and ensuring that no matter what, Alpha Omega Theta Sorority Inc. is set to function and thrive for years to come.

We are known for being a sisterhood like no other. The love and support that each member receives whether her life is going well or she’s hit hard times, Alpha Omega Theta Sorority Inc., prides our sisterhood on a greater love for ourselves and each other.
We are a networking hub for some of the most talented and creative women in business. We have elite Sorors that go above and beyond to be better women, wives, mothers, and sisters.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Wow, if I had to start over, I would open the organization up to women in general.
Women in business thrive in so many areas, yet I see so many other women would want to be a part, but don’t feel owning a business is for them.
My heart and passion is for people and ensuring that no one feels excluded. Giving everyone a chance to have a bond of sisterhood that can’t be broken.
