Sonya, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I began selling hair about one year and a half years ago. I was moving back home to Memphis from Atlanta and felt the need to have a business to carry me along until I got my TN real estate license. I became a licensed realtor in GA in 2015 and wanted to continue that career path once I moved. Hair is easy for me. I have been wearing extensions for years and have a wealth of knowledge. I have supported so many businesses so why not start my own? Today, Edgy Tresses is online only with a rapidly growing customer base. We offer bundles, clip ins, wigs, frontals, and closures. We believe in selling an amazing product at an amazing price.
Has it been a smooth road?
No, it has definitely not been a smooth route. I originally owned a storefront. Why I decided to move back and open a storefront first? I have no idea! I was so glad when that lease was over. Going online only was the best decision I ever made. It allowed me to free up funds to invest in the business more versus having so much in overhead bills. It also allows me the time I need to focus on Real Estate.
