Today we’d like to introduce you to Tammy Lane.
Tammy, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
God gave me a desire in 2004 to produce short films for the Lord, so I decided to produce my first Biblical short films series. For those films, we built an entire first century set in a one-room studio. I knew there had to be a better way so I felt the Lord lead me to build a Biblical set to use f0r my own films and to rent out to other production companies.
The Lord began to give me scripts which lead to our live productions in 2008 with The Passover Experience and then the Star of Bethlehem Experience in December. Our third production, The Apocalypse Experience, was launched in 2014.
In 2008, God provided an incredible gift of a Biblical statue depicting stories of the Bible from Adam and Eve all the way through to the resurrection of Christ. Through this incredible gift, we were able to create a 30,000 square foot statue garden centered around the statues incorporating the beautiful views of the Capernaum property.
The Lord opens the doors and Tammy is obedient to walk through the doors. She is believing in His provision.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Believing that God has a purpose for my life and that I am following that purpose. One of the main struggles is the constant need for fundraising; it’s hard work. What we do is not a typical 9-5 job. I am always thinking about my staff, each guest that comes on property that and how we can bring the message that God has given me to each guest, actor and crew member that steps foot on the Capernaum property.
In the beginning, I had to do a little bit of everything before I was financially able to hire staff members. I am thankful for the team I am surrounded by now and we are looking forward to the days ahead.
Tammy Lane Productions/Capernaum Village – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Capernaum is a unique venue for guests of all ages. Capernaum has 3 live productions every year with the 4th opening this fall. The Apocalypse Experience is in October and is a haunted house alternative. It is an intense, frightening walk-through production based on Chapter 24 of the book of Matthew and Chapter 6 of Revelation. The story takes guests through terrifying end time events.
The second production happens in December each year and is called The Star of Bethlehem Experience. The Star of Bethlehem is centered around the birth of Jesus and takes guests on the journey through Bethlehem at the time of the census and in the search for the newborn Messiah.
The third production happens around Easter time and is called The Passover Experience. Guests are immersed in the Jerusalem village as the villagers prepare for Passover. Guests also experience the 10 plagues on the Path of Plagues.
The fourth production will begin this fall and is The Crimson Experience. Crimson is a life-changing immersion experience that takes our guests back to the moment that changed history. Guests will walk with Jesus to the cross and experience His resurrection first hand.
Capernaum also rents the sets to production companies and churches wanting an authentic place to produce Biblical films.
Capernaum has a 30,000 square foot statue garden. This serene garden features statues beginning with Adam and Eve, Noah’s ark, Moses parting the Red Sea all the way through to the resurrection of Jesus.
There is a retreat center on the property and an event center for events of all sizes. In addition to retreats, groups can come for the day on a field trip.
We encourage guests to visit our website www.CapernaumVillage.com to see pictures and rental details.
“I am really proud of this place and what we have built. I am most proud that guests can come to Capernaum and be encouraged and inspired and learn about God.”
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I think living your purpose and knowing what that purpose is. Balancing my family and the ministry and enjoying my work, and having my families support.
