Meet Tatiana Deloatch of Vernéll Beauty and Slaughter House Cosmetics in Arlington

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tatiana Deloatch.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Tatiana. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
At a young age, I was always girly and prissy. I’ve always loved anything that was glitz and glam. I thought my passion was going to be within the hair industry but it wasn’t until the age of 15 when I started to do my friend’s makeup for parties when I found my passion for makeup.

From then I spent most of my time trying to perfect my craft. I would watch YouTube consistently, watching YouTubers such as UloveMegz, NitraaB, and ItsmyRayeRaye. Watching them and practice is what got me to where I am today.

Has it been a smooth road?
It was never easy! I remember quitting my job as a Hooters Girl in 2017 for a position at Sephora. Let’s just say the manager at the time pumped my head up to have me thinking all I had to do was apply, and she would pull my application for hiring. BIG MISTAKE! I have given the run-around and finally, I was told that they weren’t interested and that they were going to look at other applicants. This cycle continued with almost every other top beauty company. I knew my capabilities and if nobody wanted to give me a shot It was time for me to make it happen on my own.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I’m a freelance makeup artist and owner of a cosmetic line called “Slaughter House Cosmetics”. I love makeup so much that I wanted to create a unique line on my own where women can feel fierce at all times and kill the game. As far as my freelance work I specialize in enhancing a women’s natural beauty. Allowing her to wear the makeup and not to let the makeup wear her. At this moment I specialize in personal appointments, Bridal, and photoshoots. Personally, I feel like what sets me apart from others is my creative mindset. I’m always thinking outside of the box to make sure I’m not like nobody else.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Within the next five to ten years, I definitely would like to see my brand in facilities who told me no. Another shift would be for me to have a roster of A-list celebrity clientele. I want to be an inspiration for both women and men to look at and say “She followed her dreams and so can I !”
