Today we’d like to introduce you to Tawanna Marsh.
Tawanna, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started out what some would consider late, after raising my three kids and seeing them off to college. I always knew becoming a writer and entrepreneur were in my life’s journey. It was just a matter of timing. Turns out after my last kid graduated from Duncanville High School, timing met opportunity for me. After seeing him off to college, I decided to finalize some manuscripts I’d been working on over the past 14 years or so. I finalized them, formalized them, packaged them, got them published and the rest is in-progress.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Smooth road? Nope not at all. Rewarding? Yes. This path, my path, has been absolutely, totally, and magnificently gratifying in ways that I cannot effectively articulate. Trusting in the energy of the unknown is an adrenaline rush.
I encountered many struggles along the way all of which, I discovered, could’ve been anticipated during the building of something from nothing. Struggles with finding capital and mentorship were all very real. But these struggles taught me important lessons in fortitude that are now embedded within my being. You see, it turns out that when building something from nothing, the effort will always be presented with a certain amount of challenges. I believe it is all designed that way. Some challenges are unavoidable and are built-in. They are meant to grow you into the subject you are meant to become in order to build the dream that you said you wanted.
Mitchell Marstin Media – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Mitchell Marstin Media is an entertainment company. We specialize in book design and publishing, talent management, general entertainment, and entertainment business consultation. What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
One of my proudest moments has been watching my children come aboard in support of a dream they’ve heard about all their lives. They’ve seen the struggles first-hand and have learned along with me, step-by-step, what it takes to make a dream into a reality. I am most proud of what I’ve overcome to get here and the ability to witness all that is about to happen from the tremendous work that has been put into this effort.
