Meet Terry McGee of Simply Inspiring Productions in Little Elm

Today we’d like to introduce you to Terry McGee.

Terry, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
After losing my job in 2010 for a reason not associate with my job performance, but rather someone’s personal opinion. I decided to begin the process of taking control of the financial well being of my life. I started an electronics store (McGee Networks Plus) but soon realized, I could not compete in that arena. Then, God turned my attention to gospel entertainment. That eventually gave birth to “Simply Inspiring Productions”. Which started with an online radio show called “Simply Inspiring Show with Terry McGee”. Now, under the umbrella of the company is not only the radio show but 2 books and a short film.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The biggest struggle came with a question I asked myself. How can I compete in the online business? There are several thousand. So, I had a lot of work to do but I was ready for the challenge. How can I get people interested in what I was doing? This is still a struggle as once I got their attention, I have to keep it.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Simply Inspiring Productions story. Tell us more about the business.
“Simply Inspiring with Terry McGee” radio show is what I am most proud of. I get to talk about whats relevant in today’s world based on my opinion and interview some very inspiring people along the way. I have had the chance to talk to some of the gospel entertainments biggest stars and some that are on their way. So, now that I have involved book writing and short films (soon a full feature film), it gives me more of an opportunity to reach the masses. I believe my attitude and my desire to see others achieve greatness sets me apart from everyone else.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Luck has not really played a role at all. I believe that if you stay prepared, opportunities will come. So, I stay prepared and ready for more opportunities to advance what I do.
