Today we’d like to introduce you to Tolu Adesina.
Tolu is a singer, songwriter, producer, and performer born September 8th in Northern Nigeria (Kaduna) to Mr. and Mrs. Adesina. Tolu was raised growing up in a Baptist Christians church. As early as 11, Tolu was already part of the children’s choir of Barnawa Baptist Church where he gained most of his musical experience. Tolu was discovered in a music talent hunt (Project fame) and in 2014 signed a recording contract with Allyhills affiliated to Mavin records and did some work with Donjazzy Babyfresh and Tiwa Savage. At the end of 2017 Tolu had an amazing spiritual experience that changed the direction of his music to inspirational and gospel and is currently spreading his new message.
Please tell us about your art.
God inspires me to do what I do…. I feel l like my specific type of voice was designed by God to pass a message of hope and transformation. I’m a student of melody and this helps me when I work, as the tunes come to me, the message becomes clear as the sounds tell me what direction to head with my message…why I do it is to make sure I fulfill my mission on earth…it’s my belief that music is a huge responsibility, and with much power comes great responsibility. So, it’s my creed to make sure I fulfill my destiny and touch as many lives as possible…the video is a reflection of my journey from the moment I was discovered to my present state so people can have a feel of my journey so far because I have a long way to get here. I feel like I still have a long way to go ahead of me but you can’t appreciate where God is taking you if you don’t reflect on how far he has brought you…the song oshe Baba (thank you Father) is a testimony to that and a genuine thanksgiving song to God.
Do you have any advice for other artists? Any lessons you wished you learned earlier?
My advice for artists is know your craft and perfect it…because it’s the only thing that u have that is undeniable… then build a team that believes in you and make sure you educate yourself on the necessary tools to make your reach bigger and wider. Last but far from least, trust God and seek his face He will always come through for you…
