Ash, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started working as a professional makeup artist about 6 years ago with a focus in Bridal and Beauty. Since then, artistic and editorial style makeup has truly become a passion and form of self expression for me. While I continue to freelance working with clients, social media has given me an amazing outlet for my art.
Has it been a smooth road?
The biggest struggle I have faced through out this journey has been my own self doubt. Comparing my work to others, feeling unworthy or not quite good enough. I’ve learned to love myself exactly where I am at and to embrace the journey. Every job I work or every piece I create, moves me one step closer to where I want to be. We are our own worst critics, so I believe we must consistently encourage each other. I always say, can you imagine how we would feel if we could see ourselves how others view us, rather than through the filters in which we judge ourselves? It would be amazing! Celebrate your skill level wherever you are at, find the beauty in your “mistakes”, don’t miss out on the present!

I am a freelance makeup artist, specializing in beauty and bridal. I also create for social media, my biggest platform currently being Instagram. I truly love making people feel like the best version of themselves, whether it’s on their wedding day or just for a special occasion. I feel so honored when someone chooses me to be a part of a special moment in their lives.
I see art in every aspect of makeup whether it’s a natural, every day look or something editorial created for a runway. I believe we are all a blank canvas waiting to be adorned with art!
What’s the most important piece of advice you could give to a young woman just starting her career?
Work at your craft every day. Whether it’s brainstorming, creating, planning. Every little move you make gets you one step closer to the end goal.
