Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Cantú.
Jessica, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
After a little over three years of trying to conceive, our prayers, hopes, and dreams didn’t seem to become reality. My husband and I just gave up hope on the perfect baby boy that we had always talked about day in and day out. We just thought it’s not going to happen, maybe something’s wrong with us, maybe God doesn’t want us to have children. So many things come to mind when prayers are not answered. We as humans beings living in the world we are living in want things now and it just doesn’t work that way in the eyes of God. He will bless us when he’s ready!
On February 14, 2017, Mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. We couldn’t have been more devastated, heartbroken and scared of not knowing what was going to happen to my “Madre” what I always call her. But something inside of me kept telling me she was going to be okay. That everything was going to unravel smoothly.
A total of two weeks have passed by since we received the devastating news about Madre’s results – I myself randomly go for my annual checkup and with God’s great miracles that he performs in his timing, the Doctor walks in the room – literally in tears knowing my situation and says “Jess you’re pregnant”! Time is all that was needed! Our emotions were overwhelmed with joy! My whole world has changed for the best! And this is where I can say my world is Noah’s World! 8 1/2 months growing strong, healthy and absolutely the most beautiful baby I have ever seen! I love taking pictures of him! Capturing every second of the day. Reminds me of my dad when I was younger, he loved taking pictures of us. I think that’s where I got it from! I live and breathe for my precious baby boy! And thank God every day for giving us life!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It’s never a smooth road. If life was smooth and easy everyone would live a perfect life. But we all know that’s not possible. Patience and trust in God’s timing will get you through anything!
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Life of Noah – what should we know?
Currently, I am a stay at home mom. I truly believe raising your child at home if you can is the best start for your baby. The first couple of years are the most crucial years for a baby and I wanted to be there for him as long as I could!
Before I had him I was working side by side for an Orthopedic Surgeon- which I absolutely loved doing! But now being at home and not working was so hard and still hard for me! Noah keeps me busy most of the time but I wanted to do something that was going to keep me super busy! I’ve always loved fashion, makeup and all the glamour that goes along with it. For me, I think it’s so important for a woman to feel beautiful inside and out! Makeup does the job for me! Haha, so, I decided to open up my own lash line! I just launched this summer so we’ll see where it takes off from there.
So much of the media coverage is focused on the challenges facing women today, but what about the opportunities? Do you feel there are any opportunities that women are particularly well positioned for?
Dozens and dozens of opportunities for women! I feel we as women are more powerful than never before! We can accomplish anything we are destined to be or overcome!
