Micah, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
What made me start Lucki1Accessories is from personal experience when I got a wrist tattoo. At the time, I thought it was hot to have a wrist tattoo but when it came time to find employment I stepped back and looked at myself in the mirror, I then realized tattoos are labels and first impression means everything. People will label you because of your wrist tattoos. I then decided to create custom tattoo coverups bracelets to match your everyday wardrobe and to make your personal life stay personal. When I started my business, I was known as Luckiwristwear but now after some time, I’ve expanded my horizons into Drink Covers and many different accessories.
Has it been a smooth road?
Starting your own business is never easy. You will have challenges and things you have to change down the road. My advice is criticism can be your friend and your stepping stool. You don’t have to listen to everything but always keep in mind your doing this for your future valued customers. Never give up.

We’re interested to hear your thoughts on female leadership – in particular, what do you feel are the biggest barriers or obstacles?
One of the biggest barriers women face is having a strong support system behind them. We as women can become overwhelmed and frustrated then end up giving up when all we needed was support from our loved ones.
