So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I honestly started RHYII for myself. I have always had terrible allergies and sensitivities to everything so it was difficult to find cosmetics that were good for me. The products I make are chemical-free and organic and work just as good, if not better than the chemical products out there today. I just want to share this with people like me and those that want a healthier lifestyle.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not been a smooth road lol I started RHYII, and continue to fund it, with my 9 to 5 job. I put most of the money I make into making RHYII better. I started small and every year it grows and I know it will continue that way. I think my biggest struggle is the research and development of each product. I am so critical of myself that it takes me months to finalize on how to make a product even when I know it works! I am thankful for how RHYII started because I know that I have built it to what it is and will build it to a movement in the future. My advice to women just starting out would be to start with the essentials, be consistent, and just be yourself. There’s probably someone out there with your idea or doing the same thing you are but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go for it! You have so much to offer this world!

I make chemical-free cosmetics and RHYII is my brand. It’s really a lifestyle because I am offering a healthier alternative to the cosmetics that are on the market right now. All of my products are vegan, organic, and handmade by me! I think I’m most proud of how I make my products. I’m always learning about new herbs and other plant-based ingredients to use so that my customers can live a healthier, beautiful life. I love natural medicine so I apply this knowledge to my products and it definitely sets RHYII apart from the rest.
Which women have inspired you in your life?
There are many women in my family and black women in history that have inspired me with their entrepreneurial spirit. But the most important would be my mom, she has always supported me when no one else has!
