Today we’d like to introduce you to Tramayne Agent.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
As a child, I always had a great love for art & beauty. I would always spend countless hours in my room creating & stenciling colorful cartoon characters and word banners. I come from three generations of hairstylist & barbers, so you can say the love of the beauty industry is deeply rooted in my blood. I would consistently watch the everyday housewife, sit in my grandmother’s chair and by the end of their hair appointment, that woman was transformed into a stunning glamour girl. I knew I wanted to be a part of the industry but didn’t know in what area I wanted to contribute, being that I didn’t have the patience for hair. In my teenage years, I always played in makeup with my best friends and even made up all of their faces for prom. So, you can say my love for makeup continued to grow into my adulthood. In 2009, after practicing for an entire year, I decided to pursue a career in makeup artistry. Over the years, I gained a loving following, worked fashion & trade shows, attained awesome collaborations with another talented makeup artist in the DFW area, & posted my work consistently on social media. After contributing 11 years to corporate America, I finally accepted my artistry as more than just a gift. As more opportunities fell into place, it was apparent that the pursuit of becoming a full-time makeup artist is now. On May 30, 2019, I stepped out on faith separated from the best telecommunications company (AT&T) to do just that. A week later, I was blessed to be hired by one of the top makeup brands in the industry, Morphe Brushes and have so much support from my family, friends & co-workers. I am happier than ever. I still have more goals to accomplish this year. I just want everyone to know that it is never too late to follow your dreams. Yes, it will be terrifying! I am a witness that if you work toward your small goals daily and keep your eye on the prize, you will not fail. Never allow fear to take your power. Live life with no regrets. It’s all or Nothing!

Has it been a smooth road?
The road to making a full-time career in makeup artistry was not as smooth as I would have liked it to be. As an artist, I felt the need to accommodate every client/potential that wanted to book with me. Due to the demands of my corporate job, I would find myself turning down the job or handing the job off to another qualified artist. It became very frustrating to ask the client to consider me for future events, however, I felt it was my duty to assist them with finding the best available artist possible. No one knew this but, between 2012-2015, I fell into a deep depression due to feeling extremely suffocated and confined to a career path I absolutely had no desire growing in. It was a never-ending cycle. Literally, get up, go to work, make sure my husband and children were good, go to sleep, repeat! No passion, a prisoner of my own body, spiritually dead, no drive, NOTHING!! I completely felt unworthy of ever doing what I love or losing weight. I remember a conversation I had with my Grandmother & Dad that stuck with me. She said, how are u going to call yourself an artist and you don’t even attempt to put makeup on? You are a walking billboard for your brand. No one will believe in your artistry if you don’t so take your power back and act the part. Dad said, I don’t want you to have the same health problems that I do. Looking back at those moments, I am so grateful for their honesty. I never understood what they meant until one day I asked the Lord to help me love myself. In 2016, I started becoming more inspired, lost 75lbs by healthy eating with exercise, and addressed all the demons in my life that was holding me back from reaching my fullest potential. Look what God did for me! It’s 2019 and I’m now in my desired career path, willing to grow and learn and I am completely devoted to the representation of my brand.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Faces By Tne’ga story. Tell us more about the business.
Faces By Tnega was established in 2009. My company is highly active as an industry influencer working with many photographers, designers, and models with work seen in several magazines & fashion shows. I specialize in glamorous and bridal makeup application. I’ve learned one universal rule from my clients: women want to look fresh, flawless, confident and beautiful. In this career, your first impression could be your last impression. Every makeup application is specifically tailored to that person’s personality, image, skin type, and style. I take pride in providing exceptional customer service. My chair is an intimate interaction with my clients. For some, that is their only time to have peace of mind and if I create a comfortable relaxing setting, it’s my pleasure to oblige. My artistry is a vessel & Jesus Christ is the center of my gift and above all, HE wants us to know that we are fearfully and wonderfully made.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The beauty industry is continuously growing. I do believe that the skincare market will definitely step up their game in order to compete with the makeup side of the market. Everyone wants to add the best upcoming product to their regimen that will make your makeup look more flawless than ever. I honestly think that now that more consumers are more knowledgeable about the makeup side, they will definitely have the urge to want to learn how to care for the skin underneath. Social media will truly create a really exciting domino effect, with true and honest reviews from influencers that are very knowledgeable about the products.
