Today we’d like to introduce you to Trey Allen.
Trey, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Growing up in South Louisiana I had an early appreciation for Music. My great Uncle Shine Mouton originated the Mouton brand Cajun accordion and it is still in production today by his nephew. Being around musical instruments and also live music was something that was always part of my life so it was easy to work towards being a professional musician. The passion was rooted in deeply at that young age so I always knew I would try to do something in the industry.
As I grew older I began to appreciate other genres as well and fell in love with rock music and decided to try out singing and playing guitar and it was just natural for me. I was involved with several bands and some solo projects over the years but it wasn’t until I met my current bandmate John that I knew I had found something different and special. We quickly formed a powerful bond and chemistry that has helped us move up the ladder to being able to have a booking manager and also playing 4-5 shows a week which was always a huge goal of ours.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Life is never about a smooth road for me. There’s always challenges and struggles in anything you do especially if it is something important. if you are truly passionate about something you should never give that up so I didn’t. I feel like failure is often part of the process when success is ahead of you. We obviously heard plenty of no’s before we heard some yes’s and that’s ok. I learned early on that the journey is far more important than the destination.
Trey Allen Band – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Trey Allen Band is a 2 person indie rock band and we love playing original music we write along with making hit cover songs our own unique sound. We specialize in playing live shows and we use a looping station and create our own beats for the songs we perform so we sound like a 3/5 piece band. We love crowd interaction and we love energy. Our original songs are melodic and groove centered and we feel our vocal harmonies will grab your attention.
We are proud of our passion for music and the love we have for it and feel like it comes out in every show we play. We also have a love style recorded 5 song album on iTunes, Spotify, etc. What sets us apart I believe is our professionalism and also the fact that we don’t sound like other bands.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
For me, success is simply having goals and doing every bit you can to reach them and succeeding. A lot of people believe that being successful is making a lot of money and that’s fine however that’s not what I believe or feel. Money is obviously essential for life but it isn’t important to me and never will be. I don’t care what I get paid for shows because I love what I do.
