Meet Trey Howard of Stylesbyhoward in Las Colinas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Trey Howard.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
So I graduated highschool in June of 2015 and immediately the following Semester I went of to Texas Southern University. After a semester I realized Criminal Justice wasn’t the route I wanted to go in. So I moved back home and started pursuing modeling. It wasn’t easy I had no platform I didn’t know anyone so I literally had to start from scratch.

I remember times I would set my phone on a timer and run back and forth until I got the perfect shot. In February 2017, I got a chance to participate in NYFW something I’ve always wanted to do. By this time I had a lot of styling and modeling job under my belt so I was a tad bit seasoned. Coming from NYFW is when I feel my brand really started making a name and people knew who I was and wanted to collaborate with me. Currently, I’m still modeling but focusing more on. Styling and being a fashion socialite.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Hell No, I remember when I told my family I wanted to pursue fashion as a full-time job for one they laughed and just waved me off. Support was a nonfactor when it came to what I wanted for my life I believed in myself and I had to take that as being enough.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Stylesbyhoward story. Tell us more about the business.
Well, Stylesbyhoward is more of a MOOD than a company. I AM MY BRAND I work day in and day out to make sure people understand and relate to my aesthetic. I live high fashion editorial style such as Mugler, Chanel but street style is where the fun is so many colors and the creativity is breathtaking. The things that come from my head sometimes blows my mind. I’ve worn a hoodie on my legs people we’re GAGGED.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Luck has been pretty much half and half. I feel my hard work and determination has led me to this point in my life and it has been my mentors and inspirations that I have learned on through the hard times. I honestly believe luck is when preparation meets opportunity.
