Today we’d like to introduce you to Victor Arroyo.
Victor, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started Killed By Rexx back in 2017. I have been shooting way before 2017 but when I officially put a name for myself was in 2017. It all started with just picking up a camera trying to be creative and be able to work with everyone. At first, it was a struggle trying to get booked. My first big moment for me that motivated me to keep going was when I had linked up with one of my good friends Richard Toy known as Chino T. He had invited me over for a music video shoot called “ She Want It.” I was shooting behind the scenes and capturing some dope moments. Since then, we have been able to work going to shows shooting recaps and pictures. From that moment, I knew that that’s what I wanted to do. To me, that was big being able to try something new. At the same time, I would meet new people we would exchange info to later on work. I’ve been blessed and been able to work with Agency’s such as Premier live, No Label Tour and with others. I’ve been able to shoot for big naked artists such as A Boogie, Kap G, Phora, Salice Rose, OhGeesy From Shoreline Mafia and many more. I’ve been able to have the chance to go on tour recently thanks to one of my best friends Edgar Algarin known as Enas owner of No Label Tour. I’ve also been able to work with clothing lines as well. I would love to give a shout out to Chino T, Enas, Produkt Inc Clothing, and the Produkt Boyz and everyone who has been there for me for showing nothing but love and support, I honestly wouldn’t be able to be where I’m at right now. And also, for being able to give me a chance to work with y’all.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I can say it hasn’t been a smooth road. It took some time and a lot of patience especially trying to build and make my name stand out and creating your own style of work. There’s been many trials and errors but you learn from your mistakes. I’ve had times where I would go shoot and I had the wrong settings set and it would make me kinda upset but I just had to go back out there and try again. Being able to learn how to use a camera was hard at the start, you just don’t go out and pick up a camera and start shooting. You have to learn all about the ISO’s and when it comes to editing softwares, it all takes time and patience. It’s a lot of hard work but it will definitely get you out there.
Killed By Rexx – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Killed By Rexx is a company which specializes in any type of photography and videography. What makes me stand out is that I try to create my own style that will make me way different than the others. I always try to find a way to capture off guard pictures because to me they always come out better than what you expected. There are times where you capture images that you never thought you would have captured and that’s what makes it worth the shot. I also always do my best to keep up and have all my work done as quick as possible which is a big thing for many people being able to have their images and videos quickly.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I define success as an accomplishment. Having a successful road is never easy, there’s a lot of work that goes into it. There are lots of ups and downs through the road and that’s just life when things don’t go the way you want it to be we just get back up and try again but 10 times harder and correct our mistakes and that’s what makes you successful in life. You can’t let anything or anyone hold you back or keep you down. You can’t set a goal for yourself because once you reach it you will want to give up.
