Today we’d like to introduce you to Diamond King.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Diamond. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
After finishing school here in Dallas, I left and went to Atlanta, GA, where I was able to find my craft and get more experience in my field of passion for modeling, fashion, and writing. I had some tough times, started off homeless a point in my life but it made me stronger and wiser. I traveled a few places from here and there, learned a lot from being around so many diverse individuals and settings. After a while, I decided I wanted to move back to Dallas to make a family so that I could further my dreams with my own family, which I did. I am engaged to my fiance’ and we have a three-year-old, Prince King Jr.
I decided to create a design called WAY’, which stands for, “We Are Young.” It shows and tells how as humans we all grow old someday but within our soul, we are young’. We are born, we grow, we produce then it starts over. No one should ever have to feel old even when we leave this here earth we are young and free in spirit. I chose to design this in loud neon colors, I add the definition in my modeling, fashion and writing to inspire so many individuals who have the same passion,those who need to be inspired and to help those believe in themselves to do whatever they put their minds to, no matter what size, race, and condition. We are all gifted and we all are a purpose, I just want to be the role model for everyone to see within themselves.
So, here I am today, pushing myself in many opportunities that have been given to me non stop and I want to share my story with others who may be in my position or needing a direction to start something new but never giving up.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It’s never a smooth road, I feel that we all get tested to see how we use our strength or patience in troubled times. There were times I was homeless, months I went without eating, living in my friends’ car and traveling without a dime from being blessed out of nowhere. No matter what challenges I faced in my life, I took advantage to grow and build a better me.
Tell us about your business. What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of? What sets you apart from others?
My business is still being built with a foundation of many efforts, but right now, I’m building my brand alone while building a name for myself in modeling fashion through my style and opportunities given from friends who are starting their business within themselves, starting off with the Walk of Fashion Dallas, more fashion shows and vendor shows. I’m known for my style of fashion and passion to inspire others and I’m very proud of being an independent entrepreneur and still being able to be the best mom and partner ever. I’m a different breed from the rest which sets me apart from others. my appearance is loud, different and freely humble.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My plans for the future is being a known author for my book called “UGLY” which stands for something I can’t tell yet because it’s a perfect steal, LOL. But it’s going to benefit so many people all over. I do see my modeling career going further and being introduced the way I want and I’m looking forward to being an aspect to everybody’s lives. I am somebody who knows that we all are gifted in our own way and I don’t do this just for me because I’ve been inspired by so many people that I fear nothing. I believe in everybody winning and I celebrate everybody’s win.
