Meet Wesley Robinson of Comatoast in The Streets of Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Wesley Robinson.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
What’s crazy is it literally started as a joke between some friends (who I wanted to put faded on shirts) but grew to so much more once I found a toast image online for $1! None of us knew where the logo would take us, but we knew if you have a good story behind the brand, the rest would soon unfold! We want to bring comfort and style to the streetwear game and we’ll continue to do so… getting to the bread till we die!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been smooth sailing for the most part, clothing lines aren’t an easy start-up! Grow a following, make a design, hope they like the design, find the right materials, etc., it’s not one for the weak minded, it takes a lot of patience, which I did have to learn! Everyone expects to blow up quick without putting in the work, but we’ll be the tortoise in this race, our time is coming!

Comatoast – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We’re a streetwear brand I would say most known for our toasty dad hats but also for the way we turn up at events, (humble brag) no one does it like us! We also make tees, shorts, sweats, etc. Also, we just branched into the vintage game under @street.ish_vintage so check that out as well! We don’t just screen print, we embroider, (spray) paint, really anything we can think of that would look dope on clothing, we try it!

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
This may sound cheesy but every time, we make a sale and see the people actually embrace the brand is a proud moment, there’s nothing like seeing someone random in a hat downtown or some stickers on their skateboard!
We all work hard for money whether, it’s your main goal or not, so really we all getting to the bread till we’re dead!
