Today we’d like to introduce you to Caitlin Dellinger.
Hi Caitlin, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I received my degree in fine arts from the University of North Texas. After I graduated, I didn’t paint for about 10 years. I decided to paint my pet squirrel which had a large Instagram following at the time as a way to relax. I shared the painting and the process on her page and her followers started asking for me to paint their pets. I have now painted almost 3,000 custom paintings. In addition to pets, I also paint wedding cocktail signs, wedding portraits, family portraits, fashion, sonograms, homes, and more!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
In the beginning, I started pricing my paintings very low just to get myself going and build up a client list and my Instagram. Now I have a very loyal following that is steadily growing and I consistently raise my prices. It has been a learning process. One thing that has helped me grow so much is my commitment to great customer service. I’ve grown completely from customers sharing with their friends and on social media.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I hand paint custom watercolor portraits. I mostly paint pets, but I have a huge base of bridal clients. I do custom cocktail signs, wedding portraits, fashion portraits, etc.
I am most proud that my customers trust me with painting their most precious memories. they are buying keepsakes that they will have for the rest of their lives. It’s extremely rewarding when one of my paintings brings comfort in a time of loss, whether that be a pet or family member.
I think that my level of customer care and the customization that I offer is what sets me apart. I also post the progress of each painting on my Instagram stories. This way the client and other potential clients can see the whole thing from start to finish.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
My customers have been the biggest part of my growth. They share the progress of my paintings with their friends and family and share photos and videos when they receive them. It has become a staple of my business and the organic growth that has come with it is astounding. I have also had a few influencers that have shared my work which has been invaluable.
