Today we’d like to introduce you to Layllen Sawyerr.
Hi Layllen, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
As a child, I was not always confident, but I always found a way to be positive regardless of what obstacles I encountered. I learned the power of being resilient at an early age and knew I had a bigger purpose but was not sure exactly what it was. I went through a journey for self-discovery and growth. Once I discovered self-development it changed my perception. Through positive affirmations and being intentional I was able to change my mindset which also helped me change my life.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I was not raised by my biological mother. As a result, it gave me a feeling of inadequacy at a young age. I had to decide if I wanted to focus more on excuses or take the necessary steps to make a long-lasting change. I take steps daily to focus more of what
I want and change the internal conversation with myself. I also wrote a book called “Love, it all starts with you. (https://layllen.com/collections/books) to share my journey and help others who may have gone through something similar.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have a master’s in Project Management and a background in legal and compliance. Over the past 16 years, I have consulted with many of the major banks on governance. risk and compliance in cybersecurity space. I am a John Maxwell certified Speaker, Author, and Coach who is passionate about coaching others on self-love, mindset, and living an intentional life.
I lived in Los Angeles for 10 years but decided it was time to move back to Dallas at the start of the pandemic. In LA I was able to build a clientele around planning events and creating space for them to bring their visions to life. I decided to take my event venue planning and open a location in Uptown Dallas.
L.A.Y.D. Spaces, which stands for Live All Your Dreams, is a full-service upscale intimate event venue dedicated to creating intimate events for a wide range of clients in different industries. I went on to open two more locations throughout Dallas and was booked most weekends. I decided to scale back and perfect my business model while also. Today I am also helping other event venue owners drive traffic to their business as I prepare to release my digital products teaching others how to open manage and scale their own event venues.
What makes you happy?
I think the self-development industry is needed more now than ever. 2020 has shown so many the power of mindset and intention. So many people are fighting a battle that no none knows about. Speakers, Authors, and Coaches help you focus more on what you want to create and execute on your goals. I think as more people realize the importance of entrepreneurship, they will seek out courses, coaches, and trainers to help them achieve their goals.
