Rising Stars: Meet Maximiliano Carrillo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maximiliano Carrillo.

Hi Maximiliano, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started my photography journey when I was only just 15 years old a freshman in high school. I took a photography class in high school to learn more about the art. Throughout high school, I would learn how to properly use a camera to learning editing softwares such as adobe lightroom classic and everyone’s favorite photoshop. I would practice my photography skills by going to local car meets and photographing and building up my confidence on converting. I did what any photographer would do which is create an Instagram & Facebook page with the name “Multiplex Photography”. I started attending car/truck shows to gain more recognition and further improve my skills, and thanks to this my name really started to get more and more out there on social. Quickly without thinking too much about it I was able to make a name for myself and start gaining attraction with getting booked for photoshoots. I was never a fan of going to college, mainly because of the whole student debt and the additional years of school wasn’t intriguing to me. As a kid, I had to grow up fast because I faced the harsh reality of my parents not having a lot of money and my parents showing me what it meant to work hard for whatever you want in life. Growing up with this reality I developed the mindset of an entrepreneurial mindset. After I graduated high school, I decided to educate myself on business and entrepreneurship to help grow my photography business. I am still on this journey and have expanded my photography into a clothing brand with my unique logo and looking to expand into other genres of photography.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been quiet the roller coaster to say the least. The biggest hurdle I had to overcome was with my confidence, I was never the outgoing talkative kind of person in school. It took me a three years to finally overcome this mostly thanks to reading books and getting uncomfortable in certain situations. Photography really got in the way with school and my part-time job I had at the time. I had a lot of sleepless nights that caused problems with school and my parents. I had a lot of problems with my parents because they would be really strict with me on going out doing photo shoots so I would have to always ask for permission and would occasionally come home late.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am photographer here in the DFW area. I am most known for my work on photographing cars & trucks. What sets me apart is my work ethic and my unique logo that I put on my pictures and I expanded it to merch that I’m slowly turning into a clothing brand

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success to me means having freedom to whatever your passionate about and having that financial freedom also.
