TwoGether Land Fest Kicks Off its Inaugural Weekend in Dallas

Our creative director Madison attended TwoGether Land Fest to prepare coverage for our upcoming Echoes & Encores series. Preview follows below.

Focusing on the power of unity and togetherness through music, the inaugural TwoGether Land Music Festival over Memorial Day Weekend in Dallas was a huge hit. Rap, R&B and hip hop fans visited Fair Park from all over the DFW metroplex. The festival concept was crafted by its sister event, ONEMusic Fest and promised a weekend of community through music – which they happily delivered.

Saturday highlights included Three 6 Mafia, the first rap group to win an Academy Award, along with Gucci Mane, Tink, Key Glock and Summer Walker. Walker’s immaculate stage presence was captivating and sultry – leaving fans ready for day two.

Sunday highlights included a star studded lineup of Texas natives, like That Mexican OT, Fat Pimp, Chalie Boy, Big Tuck, GS Boyz, and the legendary Erica Banks, through partnership with K104 radio icon Bay Bay. Texas sure knows how to show up and show out for their hometown favs!

Despite the scorching temps, fans of all ages enjoyed various art installations, a podcast stage, Dj sets, a skating rink, tons of delicious food vendors and bars galore.

Sunday evening showcased the Atlanta star Jeezy, the energetic and sassy Latto, and the oh-so iconic rap legend, Lil Wayne who performed classic songs like “A Milli” and a powerful cover of “I Will Always Love You” by Whitney Houston. All in all, it was a jam packed weekend celebrating the soul, power and creativity of Black musicians.
