Today’s Artist of the Day features an interview with Jeremiah Woodard. Please find our conversation below.
Thanks for joining us and we’re so excited to have our readers learn more about you and your creative works. Kick things off for us, what should they know?
My art has been described by other artists as a documentary style. I take a lot of street shots, including buildings, people, cars, etc. Basically everyday life. I am a photographer from Fort Worth, TX. Another photographer has told me that my work is simple, but he sees a deeper meaning behind it, which is really surprising to me because I’ve never thought of it like that. I think that’s what makes my work unique. I may not see it, but other people may be able to point out something that I’ve never noticed. What I want my message is there is something special about every day that goes by. No matter how rough or stressful it may seem.
Who has played a meaningful role in your creative journey and what impact did they have?
There are many who have played a significant role in both my work and life. Too many to count really. The main ones are my brother Tommy, my homegirls Ashley, Nina, Gina, Cori and Rachel along with my homeboys Jasper, Curtis, William, Duane, and Jase. My friends and my family have also played a significant role throughout my journey as a photographer. Shoutout to everyone who has supported me.
