I was introduced to a beautiful mineral from Australia 35-years-ago and was won over by its structure and its shape. I incorporated various minerals into my personal home, and soon friends and acquaintances started asking me about them. An interest was born, and many people began introducing minerals that I would find for them into their own living spaces. And that’s how our business was born! – Empress
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Of course, there are always struggles when you own your own business — especially one that requires artistic vision. In our minds, I have many facets of our business conceptualized, but seeing those thoughts realized in real life can be an arduous process. And then, the general consumer population has to be ready and open to accept new concepts and ideas. For all of these things to happen at once? There is a lot of timing involved. – Empress & Micah

What were you like growing up?
I was a very, very shy girl. An introvert, for sure. I loved to read, but I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit. In high school, I would buy these lovely dresses, wear them to school, and if someone offered me a compliment on it, I would offer to sell it to them on the spot. I loved helping people bring something beautiful into their lives. – Empress
I was interested in the sciences as a child. Natural phenomena, compositions, and formations always made me curious. – Micah
