Today we’d like to introduce you to Madelyn Brene.
Madelyn, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I began singing at the age of three and fell in love with music and the arts. I began winning acting and singing competitions throughout Texas and started studying formally. Throughout my childhood and teenage years, that love became a passion and I began classical training and modeling. I initially went to Xavier University in New Orleans, LA but upon the devastations of Hurricane Katrina, I transferred my studies at Southern Methodist University and graduated with a degree in Vocal Performance and concentration in opera.
After graduation, I hit the ground running as an artistic Entrepreneur acting in various stages and commercials and self-producing my concert series that catapulted my fan base and audience.
After buzz about my shows, music, and productions I began to strengthen social media merely to increase my outreach to my fanbase. Little did I know, that my platform would grow so rapidly and push me into the modeling sector as well as influence. It is has been amazing to be known and considered as a brand it’s been exciting to see my growth. Now, I am working with top brands, performing acting and living my dreams. It has been amazing
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has NOT been easy. There were so many times that I just felt like “What am I doing, I must be crazy to think I can accomplish all of this nonsense in my head.” Then, I remember WHO I AM. Lol. I remember that since my childhood I have been a creator, an inquiry and someone who knew early on that my Purpose was huge. This mindset has helped me overcome heartbreaks, financial struggles, failed projects and self-doubt.
Many of my friends refer to me as ” The Swan” because everyone sees the beauty, gracefulness, and poise on top of the water, but no one sees or can even imagine the paddling and craziness happening underneath. What has happened underwater has made me strong:) My upcoming recording project which is a visual EP called ” THE SWAN SUITE” actually reveals a lot of this and my vulnerabilities. It’s a very honest work that reveals a lot about me musically, emotionally and personally.
I always advise people to strengthen and secure the relationship with God and yourself, and the rest will follow. As long as I can love, trust and have faith in God and myself, I never worry about getting those things or being dependent on them coming from someone else, and that is big.
Please tell us about Madelyn Brene.
My work and brand are all centered around me, and I am an artist. My brand consists of being a performing/ recording artist, songwriter, model, brand influencer, vocal coach, show producer, and radio/tv personality.
I’ve curated and produced shows that have partnered with the Dallas Mavericks, Genesis Women Shelter, etc. and I’ve worked with brands such as Eleven 60, Target, Purina Puppy Chow, etc.’
As a recording artist, I am a member of the Grammy Recording Academy and have performed and written music internationally.
I am most proud that with all that goes into the brand Madelyn Brene, I have managed to create and show an artist that they can succeed in their art and branch out to various avenues to create revenue and solidify a substantial fan base
Often it feels as if the media, by and large, is only focused on the obstacles faced by women, but we feel it’s important to also look for the opportunities. In your view, are there opportunities that you see that women are particularly well positioned for?
All women are well positioned to take any talent, product, and skill they have and build a lucrative career and brand. I also think that this is the time to have it ALL. Like most women, I long to have a successful career, family and positive relationships. I don’t think we have to have just one. You can be and do anything you want and how you want.
