I had an idea to start a business about two years ago but I was a teacher and couldn’t think about leaving the profession. Fast forward to August 2018, I made the decision to stay home with my kids and pursue my dream of owning my own business! I have been working on Venues N More for about two months now, and it is a fully functioning website that represents over 30 area small businesses. The website is a party marketplace that allows parents to easily search and book a party or venue space.
The idea for Venues N More came from my frustrations of booking a party for my triplets. I was working full time and found it hard to call venues during business hours when planning their birthday party. I thought there must be a better way to book birthday parties and when I didn’t find one, I created a solution myself!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not been a smooth road to launching Venues N More! When you’re a start-up, you struggle with name recognition. Some businesses won’t open emails or take phone calls simply because they don’t know who you are. For every “yes” I get, it is balanced with ten “no’s” and rejections. My advice: surround yourself with positive people who believe in your mission and more importantly: don’t give up!

Think of Venues N More when you have an upcoming party, shower, meeting and more, we have the perfect space for you!
What sets us apart from others is the ability to search, book a party, and communicate with the owner by using only one website! It saves you time and it is convenient. You can think of us as the AIrbnb of parties!
I am most proud of starting the business from only an idea to building a trusted company in two short months! It takes hard work and dedication, but these are traits I have learned from being a teacher of ten years!
