Meet Maya Lewis of Maya Iman in Oakcliff

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maya Lewis.

Maya, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve always loved entertaining and being entertained! Ive always wanted to be an Actress! This is my DREAM. Along with acting cAme modeling opportunities and more. I had always done a little expo here, a little play there, however, 2018 is when I decided to get up and get out! I’ve been to several model calls, auditions, submitted prints for roles and all type of things this year! I walked in two fashion shows this year and I’ve done several shoots with wonderful photographers! I’m still getting my foot in this game, however I’m super excited for what’s to come, doors seem like they are continuing to open for me and I literally can’t wait too see what the future brings!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Everything hasn’t been easy peasy! It’s a lot of dedication that goes into working, being a mother of two and still trying to pursue your dreams. I have to work of course because I’m not a paid actress or model… YET! However, my work schedule sometimes runs into auditions or showtimes and I find my self-running raggedy to try and balance my time between mommy, actress/model, and working! I’m just so ready for it to pay off!!

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I’m an aspiring actress/model. Since I’ve been younger, I’ve felt as if acting was my calling. I practice on my friends, family, and random people every day! They would never know I’m sharpening my skills on them.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Growing up my mom told me as a kid I was quiet and weird lol. She did open up as I got older. As far as personality goes by the time I was aware of myself, I was a goofball! I’m always laughing smiling and just wanna have fun! I love food! I love music! And I’m a people person, I love to entertain and to be around good company.
