Today we’d like to introduce you to Joe Winters Jr.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Joe. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
I began my Podcast show four months after graduating from Lamar University with my Bachelor’s degree. The purpose of starting my podcast was to use my experiences and education to inspire anyone who was willing to listen.
Coming from a life of poverty, losing my mother at a young age, and facing mental health issues growing up, graduating college was huge for me as it symbolized perseverance and the strength I had within. Soon after graduating college I had dinner with my mentor Bryan Levrets who had been my mentor since my junior year of high school.
During dinner he said to me “Joe, you would be doing a disservice to the world if you don’t share your story.” After that, I made the decision to become a full-time Speaker & use my Podcast, Daily Path, to share tips, tools, and motivation that my listeners can apply in their daily path. In my speaking engagements, I mostly speak about Faith, Mentality, Work Ethic, & Emotional Intelligence.
The core is defining the mentality and behaviors of successful people to build character, confidence, leadership, and emotional intelligence within the audience. I have also started an E-Learning program that consists of video lessons & downloadable worksheets that teach others how to podcast successfully while making an income doing so!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road hasn’t always been smooth. I would say the biggest struggle is finding consistent people who believe in your vision and work ethic. At this point in my life, I understand that my faith in God and work ethic will see me through.
However, you always have people that don’t understand your standpoint inputting their belief system as to why what you are doing won’t work. As a result, I’m working on protecting my energy by limiting the interaction with these types of people.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Daily Path Podcast story. Tell us more about the business.
My speaking and consulting business offers Personal Development, Podcast Education, and Educational Consulting. My brand is known for taking an authentic and servant leadership approach to transform our clients and audiences. I am most proud of the impact my company has on students.
The best feeling at a speaking engagement is answering questions from the students and speaking with the students one on one. My podcast has also reached the top 200 charts in the world for my category (education) consistently on Apple podcast which is pretty humbling. The highest rank in the category that I have achieved so far is number three.
What sets me apart from other speakers is that I am not afraid to be vulnerable. I think most people view vulnerability as a weakness. When in reality, it’s an opportunity to share with others every piece of your life to inspire them to be the best version of themselves. To me, vulnerability is a strength when you’re aware of who you are.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
None. I don’t believe in luck.
