Meet Lindsey Carr

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsey Carr.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
My story started just two years ago, back in June 2017. That was the month I got married to the love of my life, and as a wedding gift to me, he gave me my first official camera!! When we were dating, he had asked me, “If you could have your dream job, what would it be?” My answer was unquestionably, a photographer. I had never studied photography or anything related to it, but ever since my teenage years, I remember falling in love with photography and editing. Unfortunately, I never chased after it out of fear, so I guess you could say my husband was the one to help and encourage me to make my dream job become a reality! For that, I’m so incredibly thankful!

Please tell us about your art.
Since starting photography, I’ve gained so much knowledge of the techniques and skills needed to take quality photos by studying and learning from fellow photographers along the way. I’m currently one year in of starting this dream of mine, so it’s all still really new, but my husband still helps me out along the way and shoots with me as well from time to time. I’m constantly learning, growing, and figuring it all out as I go. However, when it’s something you love and are passionate about, it’s SO much fun! One thing I know is that I want to be the type of photographer that can make you feel comfortable and yourself in front of the camera.
God created every person in his image, so as a photographer I have the privilege of capturing the most important moments of those peoples lives, so I hope to capture that beauty in every photo that I take. Whether it be an engagement, senior, wedding, or holiday session.. my goal is to capture those beautiful moments of pure joy!

As an artist, how do you define success and what quality or characteristic do you feel is essential to success as an artist?
I would define success as reaching other people with your work. Whether it be even just one person who is moved by a photograph that I take, or if it’s a shy and quiet senior in high school who left her session feeling like she can conquer the world; that makes it all worth it! A sense of drive, want, and determination is needed for this to happen. However, I believe a love for others is the main essential for this industry because it’s other people that I’m taking photos of. Other human beings that I need to connect with and love in every aspect that I can.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
