Today we’d like to introduce you to Donna Khounvivongsy.
Donna, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I’ve always enjoyed crafts growing up from doodling in class or creating big projects for school. I got into calligraphy while scrolling through Instagram and became mesmerized on live modern calligraphy videos. I quickly became obsessed with learning how to hand letter through tutorials and continuous practice. I created my Instagram page to post my doodles but started more projects when I got engaged and preparing artwork for my wedding.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I create practically anything that can be personalized by using my iPad, chalk marker, or paint pen. My inspiration for creating my art comes from the enjoyment of the actual creation process, and I hope that people can become inspired in their own work when they see mine.
Do current events, local or global, affect your work and what you are focused on?
I believe my artwork can appeal to anyone and is not affected by world events/issues.
