Today we’d like to introduce you to Terilisha. She and her team share her story below.
Please kick things off for us with some background on Terilisha’s story.
Terilisha is a Dallas, Texas native who has had a love of music from a very early age. She grew up listening to the sounds of some of music’s greatest artist; her strongest musical influences include Aaliyah, Beyoncé, Toni Braxton, Gladys Knight, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, and Donny Hathaway.
At the age of 17, she decided to pursue her career as a solo artist.
Terilisha independently released “Spotlight” (2013), “N.A.S.” (2015), “Naughty Naughty” & “Giving You All My Love” (2017).
In February 2019 she released the hip hop inspired single “Sex So Good” from her debut EP “The Blue Heart – EP” released March 29, 2019.
Terilisha’s God-given gifts, love of music, dedication and persistence will undeniably drive her amongst the world’s greatest musical talents.
Terilisha, can you give our readers some background on your art?
I began my musical journey singing in different girl groups and with my church choir and praise teams. I believe those humble beginnings nurtured my love of music, songwriting, performance & dance.
It’s amazing to see the goals I set as a child come to fruition as an adult, to be abe to say I’ve become the recording artist, songwriter and actress I always desired to be.
I think one of the greatest things from being in this profession is not only am I able to take from my experiences but from other people’s experiences and write/sing songs that feel good and are relatable.
I do it because I love it. I do it because it is the gift placed inside me.
My art (music) is made for everyone. It’s created to resonate with the mind, body & spirit of every one who listens.
It’s a great joy to make and create music but also to be able to express my love of acting through my character potryal of Khloe on the original series #Washed.
What would you recommend to an artist new to the city, or to art, in terms of meeting and connecting with other artists and creatives?
Be positive! Surround yourself with people who genuinely BELIEVE IN and SUPPORT your artistry.
As far as connecting with other artists, you have to get out and network and be open to meeting and connecting with people you do not know.
Be open to constructive criticism, trust your dopeness, WORK HARD, believe in yourself, set goals and never get up.
What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
My music is available on all digital/streaming platforms, i.e. Spotify, iTunes/Apple Music, Google Play, Amazon, etc.
