Today we’d like to introduce you to Adriana Jauregui.
Adriana, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
As an immigrant brought to this country at the age of 4; I grew up with a lot of aspirations that I urged to one day fulfill. With confidence in God and working real hard I became self-employed in 2009 when I opened a small accounting. With my sister help, Mayra Edmonson, and my husband motivation, Daniel Jauregui, we have been successfully growing our accounting firm over the years. With my husband being a geologist, we loved camping and enjoying nature; which was awesome, until we had our first daughter. We then realized if we still wanted to enjoy nature we might have to take a different approach other than tent camping. I convinced him that if we purchased a bumper pull travel trailer, and allow family and friends to rent out while we were not using it would at least help us make up for the time that it was sitting stored away. This is how we realized the demand that had to be satisfied, that not only would make us some extra income but would help other families make wonderful memories with their loved ones. We love sharing out travel trailers with other families, and knowing that they enjoy nature with their family as much as we do. We have now grown our fleet tremendously in 2 years and pray to God for health so that we may continue to grow throughout the years.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
As an undocumented immigrant for over 17 years, this has been a very difficult road that I have had to crossed to get to where I am today. I thank God, for never allowing me to give up! My senior year in high school is when I started realizing that my future was not going to be as easy as I thought it would. I will never forget being fired from a great job I had gotten with the help of my high school counselor after I graduated. I was so excited about this new opportunity and about making decent money that would help me pay for community college, since it was now clear to me that I would not be able to attend a university since tuition was ridiculously expensive for someone that was undocumented. But, the happiness only lasted about 6 months, when it was discovered that I was not legal to work in this country that I considered my home. Shortly after this, when I had started working at a small family owned business my car gets retrieved by the police for not having a driver license. I was so tired of working so hard from 9 am to 6 pm and taking classes from 6:45 pm to 9:45 pm, every single day. What for, if I was never going to be able to start my own business like I had always dreamed off. Now I realize that it was all God’s plan, if I wouldn’t have gone through all those experiences I would not be who I am now. As a Citizen of the United States of America, a holder of a master’s degree in Business Administration with Accounting emphasis, and entrepreneur of 2 growing businesses, I can say that I have fulfilled my American dream.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Family Fun RV Rental story. Tell us more about the business.
Family Fun RV Rentals has been the cherry on top of my carrier and life. Not only do I enjoy serving our customers, but so does my entire family from my 9 and 3-year-old daughter to my nieces, nephew, sisters, parents, brother, and husband. We are all getting so involved in expanding our fleet to satisfy all the demand, and we love being a part of all the memories that other families are building with our travel trailers. We work together to make our RV’s as comfortable to all our clients as we like them to be when we go camping. We love to share experiences at different parks that we have visited and giving tips on what to do while they are out on trips.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t believe in luck, I have faith in God’s will and can assure anyone questioning that putting your faith in God and obeying to his will without questioning will evidently reward you when it is least expected.
