Meet Anthony Chisom of MySpiritualBootcamp in Uptown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Chisom.

Anthony, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
It was about seven years ago that God first gave me the inspiration or download for MYSPIRITUALBOOTCAMP. MYSPIRITUALBOOTCAMP is a Spiritually Based Organization (SBO) whose mission is to help people enhance their relationship with God, themselves, and one another. The mission is achieved through annual conferences, monthly gather events, music events, and social media engagement. At the time I received this divine inspiration, I was ready to print me up some Vista Print business cards and get started but God let me know that I was not yet ready to proceed and that he would let me know when it was time.

I, of course, was quite dumbfounded by this as I am a man of action and the preview he showed me got me totally excited but as God me on the journey of HIS vision of what He wanted for it to be, I soon learned that the reason I was not ready to move ahead was because of (1) I had not met all the individuals that He wanted to present and share their stories of how He has enhanced and changed their lives but most importantly (2) I was making it all about me and God wanted to show me that it was about him and of course the people that would present and share their stories helping others to see that they are not alone.

The speakers and presenters that eventually make their way to the stage are people that God himself has to lead me to ask them to be on the stage. I don’t pick a person myself, it is always the guiding hand of God that leads the way.

The annual conference takes place annually in November. The event is held at the Uptown Theater in Grand Prairie. These presentations are not about religion, it is about God and His Spirit because we all have that in common.

I am very humbled and honored that God would use me in such a way to connect with those he leads me to and those who attend to be a tool in his toolbox and to do this work.

I was diagnosed as HIV positive in 1999 and thought at the time I was going to lose my Life and not be able to contribute anything of true value to society but after turning my Life and all associated with it over to HIM that I was able to be changed and do the work He created for me.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road as we as humans always want to do things our way and interpret what God shows us differently than he intended which can lead to some pretty interesting circumstances. Plus, God has an amazing sense of humor but you have to know that. Once you push past your own ego, you can see the humor and enjoy the process.

Please tell us about MYSPIRITUALBOOTCAMP.
I activate people into their purpose.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory from childhood is when my mom (she passed almost two years ago) it was June 8th, would take one of us to the store with her and we would stop and get a burger or some ice cream or something and she would tell us to be sure not to let anyone else know we had eaten something already because it was to be our secret. Each of us thought we were just that special but had no idea she was doing /had done it with each of us.
