Today we’d like to introduce you to Latisha Rhodes.
Latisha, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
Born in South Central L.A. California. Raised by a single mother with two kids at the time. My mother tried hard to keep us from the streets, while making sure she kept me involved in music, acting auditions while barely making ends meet. LOS Angeles in the ’90s was an error of gangster rap movement and R&B WAVE. Of course, violence and gangs were still growing. But EVERY chance I would get to watch music videos or hear music at age 7. I would get the broom and act as if I’m Xscape or MC Lyte or yoyo – dopeness. Just being a kid during the time of chaos. As time passes the passion and drive and for art, music, modeling, and acting never left. Until my mother made a decision to up and move to Texas… thats when the new chapter started. Took a break from music and etc. and somethings I can honestly say in life taught me and still is teaching me. Hell, we all been down. Working to get back up while everyone else could be rooting for your downfall is a hard task. But I was able to tap back in. Just say my Journey has just beginning.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I am an Artist (Female MC, Actress, Twitter, model). A triple threat which is why I call myself B.A.D. that stands for Bold and Determined. I feel like every woman has her own way of standing out, uniqueness. I am the type of chic that wants to see all my Queens win. Stay encouraged and empowered.
What would you recommend to an artist new to the city, or to art, in terms of meeting and connecting with other artists and creatives?
Always trust the process and keep the faith. Knowing that God always in your corner even during the darkest hours.
What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
