Meet Daisy Rodriguez of Little Angels Boutique in Grand Prairie

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daisy Rodriguez.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Hello, my name is Daisy, I’m 25 years old I’m from Pacoima, CA, but I live in Grand Prairie, TX. I moved here when I was twelve years old, moved back when I was seventeen and came back within six months. I am a proud daughter of a single mother. I began my business because I wanted to keep my mind and self busy after I suffered a pregnancy loss due to an ectopic pregnancy. An ectopic pregnancy is when a pregnancy occurs in the fallopian tube. That was very traumatic for me and I got very depressed so I wanted to do something to keep me busy. I also wanted to bring awareness as well so my business name “Little Angels Boutique” is in memory of my two angels and my logo represents just that. Baby blue and pink for pregnancy and infant loss awareness and the angel wings and halo for my angels.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been an easy road. There’s so much that goes into starting a business and getting your business out there. When I first started Little Angels Boutique, I was giving it my all. I was working around the clock. I did have a setback, a major one. In January 2019, I found out I was pregnant. My husband and I were so happy and excited because we were finally getting our rainbow after the storm. Along with that, came morning sickness that lasted all day every day. So, I stopped putting effort into my business. Fast forward to Feb. 28, 2019; I was on my way to work and wet roads lead to a car hitting me, I was already so paranoid and overprotective with my pregnancy so I called my OBGYN, let her know what happened and I got an appointment to see her. I get there, she tries to hear my baby’s heartbeat (which is the most beautiful sound), she can’t get it. She gets her sonographer before she leaves. Maybe her device wasn’t working and the sonogram machine would pick it up within seconds. I go in there and as I’m laying there watching my baby on the big screen, at 10 weeks and 1 day, she says “I’m sorry mama, there’s no heartbeat.” I have never felt such a pain in my life. March 1, 2019, I was induced and after 20 hours in labor on March 2, 2019, I had an angel.  That pushed me back so bad and so far. I was lost again. Then, right when I needed it again. The main reason why I started my boutique in the business came again. An opportunity for my very first pop up shop came and it couldn’t have got here at a better time. I focused so much on that and put my all into that and since then it has kept me busy. I’m so grateful for everyone who has kept me busy. My personal experiences stopped me but just for a little while.

Please tell us about Little Angels Boutique.
My boutique is an online clothing store for kids. From 0-3 months up to size 6T. I want to bring everyone the cutest clothes at a good price. I’m so proud of how much my little business has grown and is growing. The most important thing to me is customer service. Communication is key to keeping your customers satisfied.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
The one thing I remember the most and that being the main reasons why I want to make something of myself is because I owe it to my mother. I remember her being gone so much because she was always working. She worked three jobs to make ends meet for my sister and I. At a young age I had the responsibility to take care of my little sister and had many duties for myself and her. I remember the day I told myself I was going to make something of me for her. So she can work with me and not have to settle for anything less. I am confident that I will accomplish that. I learned to hustle like my mother.
