Today we’d like to introduce you to Charity Chanelle.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Charity. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have always been a funny person very vocal and always loved talking to people and making people feel better about their day. I started initially doing blogs funny commentary videos back in my hometown Hampton Virginia in 2012. When I finally moved to Dallas in 2016, I knew that I wanted to broaden my horizons and transition over to radio and being a more of an active media and radio personality. I will never forget the night that I was out and I was just being silly and goofing around being my silly self and I was approached by a gentleman named Douglas Elliot who asked me hey have you ever thought about being in radio you would totally be great at it. I chuckled and replied why yes, of course, I have always wanted to be in radio that’s exactly what I wanted to do so he told me he maybe should think of a name I’m gonna reach out to you on this day and you just let me know. I contemplated for about a solid week on what I wanted the name of the radio show to be no chaser keeping it cool with charity chanelle and then it finally hit me let’s name the show Reverse Happy Hour. Reverse happy hour Radio show started with next level Internet radio in August of 2018. Reverse Happy Hour kicked off with myself alongside with the fabulous lyric Ishani.
In the first few months, I met so many people actresses different spoken word artist different Hip-hop and R&B artist such an amazing time. Reverse happy hour gradually progress and found a new home in November 2018 at DFWI Radio, we were there for a few months and met another group of fabulous individuals full of talents. We then progressed out as I saw more of a vision of a panel of four hosts hosting a great show bringing you trending topic things that are happening in everyday life and bringing and introducing a camera crew to what exactly we were producing out for our viewers to see. Now, I have extended Reverse Happy Hour out to have a street team we’re out in the community now engaging the public more and getting people more active into what my vision is and that is to make someone’s day great by a great conversation followed by laughter. Has it been a smooth road?
It definitely had its speed bumps and potholes in the road I’m not going to lie. At times, I definitely didn’t know if Reverse Happy Hour was going to make it as far as we have come. There are some days where I may do a show and the views may not be where I may want them to be but I have to remember why I am doing this why am I bringing this to the forefront. I cannot and will not let the fans nor the viewers that we have down, so yeah, it’s definitely been some struggles here in there nothing is going to be all peaches and cream but I’m here for everything.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Reverse Happy Hour story. Tell us more about it.
Reverse Happy Hour is the Internet radio show that goes live every Thursday at 8 PM CST. Reverse Happy Hour is a show that helps them wind down after a long day of work we want you to feel as if you having a conversation with some close friends like you’re at a family cookout and you’re having a great conversation with all of your friends and family just kicking it having a good time no filter nobody is judging you judgment-free zone. I am extremely proud of the progression that has taken place with everything the show the street team the individuals that we have met who are eager to be a part of things that we’re putting together now and in the upcoming future very proud of all of the support.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I definitely see Reverse Happy Hour Taken steps towards being on a major network. Not only do I see red carpet premiere’s red carpet interviews for myself, but I also see that for the media personalities and the radio personalities that I do have that are part of the team. I see nothing but growth and success.
